The drill
Four ways through one passage, every morning
Proverbs has thirty-one chapters and the month has thirty-one days. On the 14th you drill chapter 14 — the oldest reading plan there is. Each passage goes through the same four stations, and each one works a different part of remembering.
Station one
Read it through, slowly
The passage arrives whole, in the NASB's own section headings — so you learn Proverbs in the units it was edited into, not in arbitrary chunks of five verses.
165 passages across the book. You can add a note to any of them as you go.
Station two
Hear it, and watch the words go by
Every passage is read aloud, and the words light up as they are read. Your eyes and your ears learn the same line at the same time, which is most of why it sticks.
It keeps playing with the screen off, with lock-screen controls and a repeat mode — for the car, the gym, the walk.
Station three
Say it out loud, and be heard
Recite the passage and the app follows along, lighting each word as you say it. Saying it is the step most people skip, and it is the one that moves a passage from recognised to known.
Your voice is transcribed on your iPhone and never sent anywhere. Skip it if you'd rather not, and the drill carries on.
Station four
Now fill it in from memory
Three rounds, and the blanks get harder each time — the easy words first, then the ones that carry the meaning, then everything. Type what you remember. A word bank and a reveal are there when you're stuck.
It grades the attempt and tells you exactly what it cost: "you revealed three words." No mystery scoring.
And then tomorrow
Come back and it becomes a streak
Finish the passage and the day counts. That's the whole mechanic — no points, no leagues, no one to beat. Just today's chapter, and the number of days you've shown up for it.

This was built for my own family. It is easier to list what the app doesn't do.

- No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind
- No internet connection required — the text and every recording are inside the app
The Scripture licence this is built on requires it to stay free. That suits me: it was always the plan. The privacy policy is short, and true.
Why one book
I asked for wisdom. The answer was a reading assignment.
For years I prayed the prayer in James 1:5 — asking God for wisdom, because His word says He gives it generously. The answer I got was simple: you want wisdom — memorize Proverbs. I put it in that book for you.
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.Proverbs 2:6
So I set out to do it, and couldn't find a tool built for the job. Every app I tried was an empty container you pour your own verses into. I wanted the opposite — one book, in order, all the way through. My wife and I have six children, and I wanted something they could pick up too.
There is no verse library here, no way to add other passages, and no plan to expand to other books. It does one thing.
